City Hall Panoramas and Vistas, 1858 and 2011

“City Hall Panorama, 1858” offers a 360-degree view of Chicago stitched together from eleven photographs taken by Alexander Hesler that year.  For more on Hesler and his photographs, see the “Alexander Hesler Climbs the Courthouse” gallery in the “A Bird’s-Eye View of Pre-Fire Chicago” section of “The Great Chicago Fire.”  The “City Hall Panoramas” were taken from the top of the Chicago City Hall and Cook County Courthouse in 2011, as were the “City Hall Vistas, 2011.”
